Peter Non is not just a shoe label, it is a story teller. The label allows for the true story of each artisan to be expressed through each piece. The name is meant to mean timeless and multifaceted, eternal "non-shoes" which are more than something you wear as they transcend function.
The Peter Non SS16 Adaptation women's collection is the latest collection for the Italian label. One can see through the details and craftsmanship that all pieces are completely designed and produced in Italy using high quality leathers, goat furs, hand-warped deep cotton, cork and natural rubbers.
We especially love the strength embodied by these designs. In a world so saturated with designer footwear and their knock-off brothers and sisters, each of these pieces stand out as truly unique from the crowd. They are an extrasensory experience from the shape and feel through to the texture and layered details. The main colours in the collection are nature inspired, from Ice Frost through to the Sea with some copper and tan (and black, of course) reminiscent of the Italian shores. Here are some of our favourite pieces from the Peter Non SS16 Adaptation women's collection.
At the beginning there’s fear:
feeling weak, cold, in a sense, inappropriate.
Asking for survival.
Then a shake, in the wild of your body and aim,
perceiving a thrill inside, of “something”, different.
It’s more, it’s less, it’s longer, or shorter, it’s half or double,
it might simply just be a new perspective.
Sensations, of change.
Acceptance at first. Then adaptation, and comfort.
The osmosis between the mould and the mind:
every breath is the certain evidence of your being alive.
Rising, deep.
The world, it’s you.
If you want to get an invite to the exclusive event to see the Peter Non SS16 Adaptation collection at the PNP boutique in Firenze (or Florence for those of us who are more familiar with the English name) in January, you can send them an email. You can shop Peter Non here.
Here's a little teaser for the PNP exhibition!
