This dark casual wear label is out with their menswear latest collection. Shinobi AW15 Silent Rebirth collection is easy to wear avant-garde at its finest. Launching their first collection in 2011, designers Mike Zubik and Yulia Kuznetsova have always been inspired by the aesthetics of the streets. Using a monochrome colour palette and an artisanal approach, they pay special attention to the silhouettes, fabrics and deconstruction to create impressive casual wear. Last week, we talked about the slow fashion movement and Shinobi perfectly embodies this; all pieces are crafted in their studio which allows them to maintain control on every aspect of the design process and pay attention to every single detail.
Silent Rebirth is the latest menswear collection from Shinobi and the title holds a special meaning to the brand. This collection represents a new direction for the brand; they are moving from an emerging fashion brand to gaining worldwide attention.
One thing that has not changed is their attention to detail. For this collection, they have devised new and interesting methods for using traditional fabrics. We are used to seeing wool used in pants, but Shinobi has created a custom weaving structure to create something completely new. You've also never seen silk used like this before. They have taken the silk that usually ends up in the garbage and treated it in order to create a thick knit for their sweaters and tees. Again, anything that can produce less waste in the fashion industry is a huge benefit in our eyes. The linen used in the shorts has also had a special treatment to make them more durable, meaning you can love them longer.
No two collections are ever the same, Shinobi is constantly looking to improve on their previous collections. As they create every pattern and piece locally, they have the ability to be nimble in the production process, creating truly unique pieces season on season.
