One of my greatest pleasures is having the opportunity to see how some amazing emerging fashion designers and their labels progress. This collection by Giuseppe Buccinnà begins a second year for his eponymous label.
From his first collection for last Autumn Winter and into his second, Rigpa, for this Spring Summer, Giuseppe stuck to a monochrome, black and white palette. This Autumn Winter season, he's added not only a splash of colour in burgundy, coral and burnt orange, there is even a little print. These colours were inspired the the research into how light is absorbed and reflected by the individual fabrics and the superposition of the layers. His shapes continue to be structured yet asymmetrical, adding draping of soft silks in with the cottons and wools he has used in the past.
Giuseppe Buccinnà’s has even taken a stance, viewing his fashion as a cultural vehicle in contemporary society and creating garments with the highest standards in quality, design and environmental consciousness. Sustainability is at the forefront of the entire design process, from choosing suppliers who meet these shared high standards to ensuring the best possible work environment for those who craft the garments. Giuseppe proves that his class of emerging designers are the future of the fashion industry.
