Another amazing emerging brand which I have had the pleasure of meeting through my visits to the Paris showrooms is Pal Offner. The brand is helmed by the duo designer Nele Offner and creative mind Sabina Pal, who started the brand one Friday night in 2013. Since then, they have had great successes in building their name on the global stage.
Pal Offner straddles the boundary between masculine and feminine, straightforward and experimental designs. Their timeless designs are disrupted by the use of cut edges, exceptional details, creased materials and handmade finishes. Asymmetries and deconstruction fuse with classic tailoring. Pal Offner only uses high-quality materials and all items are produced in Germany and other European countries which offer specialists in their fields.
For their Spring Summer 2017 collection, Pal Offner strays from the trends, crafting a collection that is deeply personal to the state of mind of the founders. There is a sense of transition and change, new homes and new paths in life.
This season sees a palette of pale ice grey and black with some prints inspired by architectural drawings. They've used mainly structured, stretch cotton, paper jersey, linen and silk together in what they call "non-geometrical geometry," meaning clear forms that have been displaced, and unfinished, cut edges. To finish off the collection, they've used latex spray, for a pulverized look and pigment dying.
All of these stunning images are thanks to Marija Heinecke, who has been working with Pal Offner since the very beginning.
