Founded in Latvia in 2010 by Linda Blanka and Martins Blanks, BlankBlank is an emerging experimental fashion brand. The very core of the brand turns artistic prints into quality, casual and wearable garments. Linda has a background as a graphic artist and Martins' background is in design, which one can see when appreciating their creations. They like to use the term "wearable feelings" to describe their aesthetic, whereas the clothing is meant to express the inner feelings of the wearer. The prints created by the brand evoke thoughts of nature and how it shapes the human interaction.
Their latest collection for Autumn Winter 2015 is entitled Fields B&W. The inspiration for this collection is the northern landscapes with its icy fields, chilly winds, and crackles of hoarfrost. The shapes used throughout the collection are another of BlankBlank's signatures; they blur the lines between luxury and leisurely, almost sporty, appeal. Many of the cuts are squared and oversized, with a very distinct androgynous feel throughout the collection. Also keeping with the signature style of the brand, and the title of the collection, the colour palette is kept monochromatic with splashes of muted greens and blues evoking thoughts of glaciers and the frozen rivers of the north. Here are some of our favourite shots from the Fields B&W collection.
