Another great emerging brand we found during Paris Fashion Week was Phactory Lab. The brand was founded in 2014 by Marianne Cancrini after receiving a degree in fashion design from the European Institute of Design in Rome. He has always been interested in the study of conceptual fashion. Phactory Lab is an Italian brand who works with high-end professionals, designing and producing everything in Italy using only Italian fabrics. The focus of the Phactory Lab label is to produce high quality, wearable items for the modern woman interested in standing out through luxurious simplicity.
While the images here in the article are super colourful, Phactory Lab's monochrome black and white palette is what first caught our attention. The pieces in this Autumn Winter collection are very sculptural, using mainly neoprene and more rigid fabrics for a base. And while the shapes are generally more geometric and sculptured, the juxtaposition with the fabric create softer garments overall. They have stated that part of the inspiration for this collection was "fluffy marshmallows" in their static shapes with softer, malleable textures.
