This week, we take our focus to South Korea to showcase some of the amazing talent coming from this Asian fashion capital. The brand was previously known by one of the designers' names, Byungmun Seo who creates this amazing work alongside Jina Um, though they have rebranded for the Autumn Winter '16 collection to BMUET(TE). Here, we explore their latest menswear collection for Spring Summer 2017.
While the designer and brand are based in Seoul, Byungmun Seo was professionally trained in the world's fashion education capital, London, receiving his MA from the London College of Fashion. His counterpart, Jina, got her experience by working for and collaborating with various artists throughout London. You can definitely see the London streetwear culture influence on these latest designs for the Spring Summer collection.
The silhouettes throughout the collection are dramatically oversized and architectural, achieved through the duo's creative pattern cutting. Every design detail was thoroughly though through. There are hidden details, such as straps inside and hidden zippered pockets, that take each piece to a new level. There are elongated sleeves, asymmetric hemlines and luxurious fabrics making this a very high-end casual collection we would love to see on the streets.
