We have been in love with Hong Kong based label Curtis Li Studio since their debut collection UN-TITLED-ISM for Spring Summer 16, so it was amazing to meet the team and see their latest collection, Inherent, for Spring Summer 2017 in Paris at Ozone Showroom. While the sporty, athleisure trend has taken hold in the fashion industry, Curtis Li Studio, in our opinion, is the brand doing it best in this arena.
They use more avant-garde shapes and technical fabrics to create interesting and completely wearable garments. Inherent sees the use of water-resistant fabrics in long-line tunic tops and a shiny cotton poplin in sporty shapes that are much more tailored than your usual sportswear.
Their leather pieces for Inherent are amazing. There is perforated leather, which is great and lightweight for spring summer. They've also used a stone-washing effect on a white leather base (like in the jacket above) to create stunning garments. We also appreciate the functionality of each piece. For example, the jacket in the main image above has sleeves that zip off and an interior that can be removed or worn alone, giving you so many options from a single piece. There is also the backpack with pockets on the front that are detachable, allowing you to wear the pieces in different ways.
