It is always inspiring when a new designer finds out about Erebus and invites us into their space. I had the chance to visit Edgar Yao, a Taiwan based designer, and see this new brand of leather accessories in their showroom in Paris this past season.
This label uses very rigid yet luxurious black vegetable tanned oxhide in their work. The shapes of the bags are reminiscent of those old milk cartons you had as a child. One key feature of this collection is the structure coupled with function. While many brands creating structured leather bags pay more attention to form over function, Edgar Yao has really thought about both. All of the bags have internal pockets, for those of us who love to organise ourselves. For the backpack styles, they have a side zipper allowing access even when you are wearing them. The backpacks also have top handles, so you can either wear them on your back or carry them as a bag, whatever your outfit or preference demands. This collection also has everything you need to keep yourself organised, from document holders to phone holders. They've even got some structured leather bracelets to help accentuate your wardrobe.
