Stumbling upon emerging Israeli label Eliran Nargassi at Ozone Showroom in Paris was a pleasant surprise. At first glance, the pieces looked ordinary, that is until I saw them on the designer.
Nargassi’s inspiration derives from his personal biography & inner world, born to a Jewish orthodox family but leading a secular lifestyle, drawn to the conflicts & tension between religion & secularism, issues of gender and it’s interpretation.
A seemingly mainstream short sleeve shirt had added interest with higher than normal slits on the side and a tie for the waist. Shorts that, from the front look ordinary, but they've got hidden layers perfect for those hot desert summer days. Many of the shapes throughout the collection are geometric and minimalist for the man who wants to wear something different but isn't ready to go full-on fashionista. And while we don't usually go for the pleated trouser look, we can't help but love the way it was done by Eliran.
Besides the ultra-flattering cuts of the collection, Eliran used luxurious fabrics. From lightweight denim and ultra-soft linens, every piece is easy to wear and supremely comfortable. Each detail is thoroughly thought through and the finishing is very luxurious.
