Emerging womenswear label Kokler reached out to share their latest collection for Spring Summer 2017 with me and I'm so pleased to share it with you.
Kokler as a brand consists of three designers with complementing sensibilities. Emine and Hatice Sagdic are two Turkish sisters who grew up in Germany. They studied film, phsychology and literature in Frankfurt before moving to Milan. The sisters continued their education and received a degree in fashion. In Milan, they mat an Albanian designer Kleant Stasa and that is where the story of Kokler begins.
Kokler was born in 2013 and they went on to show their first collection for Autumn Winter 2014 in New York Fashion Week as part of the Italian Emerging Talents show, which is a great achievement for any young brand.
Obviously, this collection caught my eye at first because of the monochrome, black and white palette. And I am always amazed to see how designers can use patterns, texture and shape to take what could be a simple palette and create works of art without colour. What I love about this Spring Summer collection is that voluminous shapes and lightweight, sheer fabrics are blended with form-fitting details and traditionally menswear elements to create an exquisite, tailored look. We also appreciate when designers give back to their local communities and Kokler fits that philosophy by completing the cycle, from design to production, completely in Italy.
Enjoy the latest by Kokler!
