Megumi Nakanishi is an emerging designer who studied Fashion Design at Bunka Fashion College in Japan before continuing her studies at Brighton City College in the United Kingdom. After completing her studies, she trained in Paris and London, working for some amazing names in the industry such as Damir Doma, Cerruti 1881 and Ghrani Stroke. In 2009, Megumi received a prize for young designers by Atelier Chardon Savard Paris. Now residing in Paris, she began her eponymous label in 2010.
Megumi Nakanishi's aesthetic was bourn form a desire to create a product that feels pure and authentic. All of her pieces are crafted in France. Many of her garments are made from organic fabrics, which are specifically designed for consumers with sensitive skin, which are sourced from Japan and Europe. Each collection has a story which connects to the season and is reflected in the details, fabrics, colours, volumes and composition. For this Autumn Winter season, the colour palette is black and white. The oversized silhouettes are accompanied by a mix of feminine details with masculine interpretation. This latest collection illustrates how the Megumi Nakanishi aesthetic wals the fine line between Japanese modernism and the elegance of Parisian chic.
