Emerging Italian genderless, seasonless label Patrick Mathieu have just shared their latest Autumn Winter styles with me and they are beautifully simple. I got to see the collection firsthand in Paris and it’s time now to share it with you.
In their DNA, Patrick Mathieu creates seemingly ordinary items and takes them up a notch by their impressive attention to all of the smallest details. For instance, the neckline of their basic-looking white T’s isn’t round as you would expect, it is hexagonal. They balance symmetry with geometric shapes, clean aesthetics with minimal elegance. Another masterful feature of their collections, which cannot be easy to achieve, is to create one single garment that looks appealing on either a man or a woman, yet that’s exactly what they’ve done.
While minimalist in their pieces, I think Patrick Mathieu is perfect for pairing with a great many things, making them a necessary wardrobe staple.
