It is always a pleasure to catch up with emerging jewellery brand Draug Jewellery when in Paris. This past season, I got to see ALPINISM, their latest collection for this upcoming Autumn Winter season.
The inspiration behind this latest collection is Draug's love of the mountains and their Nordic heritage. This collection emphasises the aesthetic beauty of utilitarian mountaineering gear with technical details, perforated metal and surface treatments weathered from harsh conditions. It also focuses on the natural movement, body control and self-awareness o the climber in perfect symbiosis with the silence of the mountain.
It is worth noting that each piece from Draug is hand crafted in Sweden from 100% recycled sterling silver, ensuring that their environmental impact is kept to a minimum. There are pieces in this collection that are a natural progression of pieces from previous collections. Their attention to detail and ability to tell a story is truly second to none.
