While in Paris, I got to catch up with an emerging accessory designer whose work I admire so greatly! You can read our previous post in The Journal here to see how into:[into:] uses interesting materials to create stunning designs. The brand received a bit of attention while in Paris, being seen on the likes of fashionista Lily Gatins.
While the previous collections by into:[into:] have had a wider array of accessories, this latest capsule collection for the upcoming Spring Summer focuses on rings, with a few earrings thrown in the mix. For this collection, traditional understanding of jewellery construction has been flipped on it's head. For these rings, the bands are made of the the precious stones while precious metals were shaped to sit where the stones are traditionally found on a ring. Now, as traditional ruby, sapphire and diamond are not able to be moulded into rings, into:[into:] used a product called Nanosital ®, which is a synthetic version of the precious or semiprecious gemstones for the bands with silver, gold and gold plated silver for the "stones."
While all of the rings are really stunning, especially in person, one of the my favourites is the chameleon ring which is in the first video below. Like magic, the ring changes colour based on the type of light hitting it. Take a look through the images but make sure to check out the 360° videos below.
Here, you can see some short videos from each of the pieces, like you're seeing the magic in person!
