UN-NAMABLE is an emerging international fashion label that produces designer pieces made to last. This Italian label is based in Carpi, a well-known fashion district located in Emilia Romagna. UN-NAMABLE is designed by Patrizia Pierigè
The name UN-NAMABLE comes from the fact that the brand is out of the ordinary, un-definable, not to be classified. This is not a brand seeking to be in line with the latest trends, choosing to focus on tailored yet easy to wear pieces with great quality materials and a little je ne sais quoi. UN-NAMABLE because the final result of their work is anonymous yet has a personality all it's own.
This collection for Spring Summer 2017 is darker in colour yet light on fabric choice. Linen, cotton, muslin and silk and blends of the above are the primary choices for the textiles used in the collection. They also experiment with cutting techniques in the collection to give movement of the shape while combining modern styles with elements from eras gone by. UN-NAMABLE also take chances and experiment with dying and finishing techniques. One common dying technique in this collection is what they call "fade," which is a proprietary method, similar to garment dying. They also use what they call the "white lamina" treatment to create the finished effects on some of the pieces.
With unfinished edges matched with exacting tailoring, the end result is a natural looking yet almost dystopian style. While the models here are all women, I (a male) had the chance to try some of these pieces on in Paris and can say, in all modesty, that they looked pretty good!
