It was difficult to get a good look at the latest Army of Me Spring Summer 2017 collection while in Paris this past Fashion Week as they were super busy with buyers and press just buzzing around them constantly. When you take a look at the images below, you'll definitely know why. I did, however, follow up with the guys in their shop when I visited Stockholm. This latest collection builds on some of the strengths of their previous collections with some added design details.
This latest collection has the signature monochrome palette of their previous work, though this time they've used interesting techniques to add texture to their fabrics. The silhouettes are a bit longer again this season and amazingly structured through great tailoring all at the same time. Speaking of tailoring, one of my favourite pieces in this collection (though I pretty much love everything, so it is a bit hard to chose) is the exquisite single sleeved black blazer.
Leather has always been a strength of Army of Me and this Spring Summer collection is no different. The slim fits of the biker style jackets and the crackled, brushed texture are stunning. Some may think that leather trousers went out of style ages ago, but Army of Me proves them to be so wrong. The overall aesthetic of the collection is an impressively considered yet ultra casual, dystopian style.
